‘On notice’: Greens pledge to revoke fast-track consents for coal, hard-rock gold, seabed mining projects

“Today, we are putting the seabed mining, hardrock gold mining and coal mining industries – and their investors – on notice. Your fast-track consents are not safe, and they are not secure,” Green Party-co-leader Marama Davidson said.

Davidson said the policy would be a priority for any potential coalition negotiations with Labour. Thank you to the Greens. Can Labour + Te Pati Maori please step up and pledge this too?

Today I filed my submission against the shameful new Fast-track Approvals Amendments Bill. Let’s all keep speaking up for robust environmental and community input on behalf of Sams Creek and all other fast-track mining proposals around the country.
